With so many unbelievable barns, farms, hotels and castles near Aberdeen, choosing a venue in Aberdeenshire can really make your day a truly unforgettable one. For a place long associated with heavy industry, Aberdeen is extremely easy on the eyes. Being Scotland’s third-largest city, it boasts a spectacular location – Bordered by the Cairngorms to the west and the North Sea to the East, the city’s elegant granite architecture is warmed by huge pockets of green spaces. Fringed with sand dunes and the rivers Don and Dee, you’ll descend through lush, golden fields and rolling hills as you gradually snake your way down to the coast. With handsome granite farmhouses, a wide spattering of ancient Caledonian pine woodland and moorland carpeted in purple heather, it’s clear why every year, thousands of couples choose Aberdeenshire as the place to host their their wedding.

I love nothing better than photographing incredible weddings throughout this beautiful part of our country and with a wild stretch of dramatic coast and more wedding venues than you can shake a stick at, this place truly does have it all!

I really don’t have a particular “look” of wedding that I like to shoot year round and generally I tend to photograph a huge variation of venues and locations.

I’ve shot brides canoeing into their ceremonies, barn weddings, beach weddings, church & cathedral weddings, Orkney weddings, boho byre weddings, loch side weddings, theatre weddings, English countryside weddings, ancient forest weddings, hotel weddings, Spanish weddings, town hall weddings, candle lit cave weddings, tipi weddings, stupidly hot Abu Dhabi weddings, brewery weddings, castle weddings, marquee weddings, sleek city weddings, garden weddings and farm weddings. Phew.

Yeah, I’ve shot a crazy amount of different situations and in a crazy amount of different environments but that’s part of the fun right? No wedding is or should be the same and that’s a good thing guys.

Your wedding should be ‘YOU’ and ‘YOU’ alone so don’t let anyone tell you any different It’s entirely my job to make you guys look and feel comfortable and I’m there to help and guide you both along whilst we shoot – keeping everything fun, easy and moving. No stress, no pressure and definitely no horrendous, forced “posing”.
